Pregnancy chiropractic:

During pregnancy, it is common to experience lower back pain, pelvic pain and sciatica. These are due to both the hormonal changes causing increased joint laxity and the bodies altered centre of gravity creating pelvic imbalance and instability.

Our gentle and effective chiropractic treatments are pregnancy specific and focus on removing intra-uterine torsion, round ligament pain, pelvic pain and restoring correct pelvic alignment. This holistic approach assists with achieving a natural birth, reducing labour time and improved recovery post birth.

Paediatric Chiropractic care:

Chiropractic care for babies and children is something we at Scope Chiropractic are very passionate about. Dr Claudia Cadona, our qualified paediatric chiropractor, has been focusing on diagnosing and treating infants and babies for many years. She uses specific and gentle treatment techniques and provides all parents with honest and practical advice and education. Each consult we strive to ensure all parents understand and feel comfortable with the treatment and advice.

Birth can be traumatic on babies. A baby’s spine is designed to absorb the compression forces present during a natural delivery. Assisted deliveries (forceps, vacuum or caesarean births) can cause traction to the head and neck, causing damage to the muscles and joints of a baby’s spine. This can have an effect on their nervous system and may cause symptoms such as torticollis, reflux, irritability and breast-feeding difficulties. In some children, this may lead to developmental delay, poor cognition or behavioural problems.

If you are unsure if your baby could benefit from chiropractic care I propose the following questions:
Does your baby have difficulty settling and staying asleep?
Does your baby sleep with their head always turned to one side?
Has your baby developed a flat spot on one side of their head?
Does your baby favour one breast during feeding?
Does your baby have a tongue or lip tie?
Is vomiting an issue?
Do they excessively squirm and grunt to pass wind or poo?
Is your baby excessively irritable or hard to settle?
Is your baby delayed in rolling, crawling or walking?

Toddlers and children present with different symptoms that may be caused by strain on the joints or nervous system. We can help with the management of:
Bedwetting
Constipation
Poor sleep
Recurrent illnesses or ear infections
Issues with balance or clumsiness
