Book Recommendation 


What this is about: Deskbound highlights the importance of postural integrity and clearly explains how and why sitting is detrimental to not only pain but to our overall health. Kelly and Juliet explain that pain is not just a muscle and joint thing, it is an indicator of our overall health.

Who this is for: Everyone. I usually don’t advise books for everyone, but in our current society over sitting is all too common. As people become more and more sedentary it becomes more and more important to have strategies to deal with our body and health. In particular, I think parents should have this book. These habits and attitudes to sitting start at a very young age and it is very important to be able to educate children on the importance of movement, pain and posture.

Why you should read it: This book will give you a strategy for dealing with sitting and movement. It will give you competency in movement and understanding how to improve your lifestyle through minimal sitting. The final chapter will run you through a general body maintenance program to help with pain and mobility.
